Starting October 12th Microsoft annual Ignite event kicks off, if you haven’t registered you are still in time to do so by following this link, the event runs in person as well as virtually until October 14th and there will be a wealth of lectures and presentations for all IT pros!
There are several themes for the conference as usual covering a wide range of IT topics, covering well established technologies as the latest in bleeding edge innovations that I’m quite sure well hear more in Satya’s opening keynote. One of the topics I’m interested in diving in deeper is the Metaverse and there is a session titled The Industrial Metaverse that has caught my eye and has already made its way into my agenda.
Now back to the actual topic at hand the Cloud Skills Challenge, for this edition of Ignite the folks over at Microsoft Learning have opened up another Skills Challenge for Cloud Technologies and the prize for completing this challenge will be a voucher for a free Microsoft Exam.
It has become almost norm that at all Microsoft conferences over the past 2 years they run the challenges and I sure hope folks are taking advantage of them to build on their knowledge and save a few bucks by getting a free exam voucher to continue on their never ending certification journey!

There are 7 different tracks of challenges to choose from and you have a month to complete the assigned learning material contained within the challenge, you can sign up for all of them but you will only earn one single certification voucher.
Exams you can choose to request a voucher for are:
- AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
- AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions
- DP-100: Designing and Implementing a Data Science Solution on Azure
- MB-240: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service Functional Consultant
- MS-700: Managing Microsoft Teams
- MS-720: Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer
- PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker
- SC-200: Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
Each of the exams listed above is aligned to one of the 7 available challenges but you can pick any of the exams regardless of the challenge you complete, however you are encouraged to pick the one that aligns with the challenge you selected.
